While the E.M.M.I. robots come with similar abilities, the ones you will have to face later in the game are considerably more difficult to take down, requiring a solid strategy to beat.

How to Defeat the Purple E.M.M.I. in Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread

The Purple E.M.M.I. is fought in the E.M.M.I. zone in Ferenia, and it is one of the most annoying enemies to take down. This E.M.M.I. doesn’t just come with the superior detection abilities that the previous robots have, but it can also shoot a paralyzing beam that goes through walls, so it’s not possible to use the same strategy used for the Blue E.M.M.I. Here, the best course of action is to always avoid detection, using the Phantom Cloak ability as much as possible.

After destroying the Central Unit, you will bring the Omega Cannon online and you will finally be ready to take the Purple E.M.M.I. down. The best area to use both the Omega Stream to destroy the armor and the Omega Cannon to take the robot down is the long corridor right in the middle of the E.M.M.I. zone, the one with the three shutter platforms. In case you didn’t get enough time to destroy the E.M.M.I., you can simply escape the room, with the shutter door making it impossible for the robot to follow you.

Other areas in the E.M.M.I. zone can be used to destroy the E.M.M.I., but this one is the safest one. Even if you fail on your first try, go at it again, and you will eventually get the robot down.
