Right after getting the Morph Ball upgrade in Metroid Dread, Samus has no way of fighting enemies while in this form. Here’s how to get the Cross Bomb upgrade and how to use it.

How to Get Cross Bomb in Metroid Dread

The Cross Bomb upgrade is located in Ghavoran, and to get it, you will have to defeat Golzuna. To reach the boss chamber, you will have to destroy a worm door, and use Morph Ball to navigate through a narrow pathway. As the upgrade is required to proceed through the story, you will not be able to miss it.

How to Use Cross Bomb

The Cross Bomb is an enhanced bomb that unleashes a cross-shaped explosion once it goes off, destroying everything in its path, including enemies and blocks. Like for the regular bomb, the blasts can be used to get launched in a specific direction, although you will likely use the regular bomb if you need to jump while in Morph Ball. If you’re looking into destroying rows of blocks, however, the Cross Bomb is way more effective, as its blasts travel some distance, unlike the regular bomb.
