Among the abilities that Samus loses at the start of the game is Spin Boost, a very useful ability that makes exploration considerably more fun. Here’s where to find it and how to use it.

How to Get Spin Boost in Metroid Dread

The Spin Boost upgrade can be found in Ghavoran, in the location shown on the map above. To reach this area, you will have to do some underwater exploration and find and use a Morph Ball launcher. You will reach the area with the Spin Boost upgrade right after getting launched by the Morph Ball launcher.

How to Use Spin Boost

Spin Boost is a very useful upgrade that allows Samus to perform a spin jump twice in a row. As such, you cannot perform a double neutral jump, something that you really need to keep in mind while fighting bosses, as it is easy to forget in the heat of the moment.

To perform a Spin Boost, all you need to do is press the B at the top of a spin jump. You need to use proper timing for the button press, as mashing the button will not work. Additionally, Spin Boost cannot be used to gain altitude underwater until Samus finds the Gravity Suit, so the ability will be a little limited until you have gone further in the campaign.
