Metroid Dread: How to Get the Omega Cannon

In Metroid Dread, Samus Aran will have to face many dangerous enemies, but few of them are as difficult to take down as the E.M.M.I., powerful robots that can kill the bounty hunter with a single attack. Samus’ regular weapons, like Beams and Missiles, cannot even make a dent in these robots’ powerful armor, so she will need a particularly powerful weapon called the Omega Cannon to take them down.

Here’s how to get the Omega Cannon and how to use it to take down these pesky E.M.M.I. robots.

How to get the Omega Cannon in Metroid Dread

The Omega Cannon is a temporary upgrade, meaning that it can only be used to take down an E.M.M.I. Once one of these robots has been defeated, the Omega Cannon will go offline, and you will have to reactivate it.

To activate the Omega Cannon, you will have to defeat Central Units and absorb their energy. You can find one Central Unit in all of the planet ZDR’s E.M.M.I. Zones.

How to Use the Omega Cannon

Once you have defeated a Central Unit and absorbed its energy, you are ready to take on the zone’s E.M.M.I. with the Omega Cannon. You can aim the Omega Cannon by holding the L button, use the Omega Stream with the Y button to destroy armor, and charge the Omega Blaster by holding the R button. Once fully charged, you can unleash the Omega Blaster with the Y button to destroy any E.M.M.I. with a single shot to their core.
