Metroid Dread: How to Heal

Samus Aran’s journey on the remote planet ZDR is an extremely dangerous journey. The new planet featured in Metroid Dread is filled with all sorts of dangerous creatures that will attack Samus on sight, damaging her and forcing her to heal every now and then.

Here are the many ways you have to heal Samus’ health in Metroid Dread.

How to Heal in Metroid Dread

Samus’ current health level is indicated in the game’s interface at all times. Right below the Missile Counter on the top left side of the screen you will find an E icon and a number that indicates Samus’ current health. If you have found an additional Energy Tank, it will be displayed right after the number.

To restore your health, you can take advantage of the Recharge Stations found in several different locations around ZDR. The Total Recharge Station heal Samus fully and also restore Missiles, while the regular Energy Stations only heal her.

Another extremely common way for restoring health is picking up energy orbs dropped by enemies upon defeat. If you are very low on health, it’s worth taking the risk of countering an enemy, as any creature defeated with a counter drops a huge amount of energy orbs.

Picking up Energy Tanks will also heal your health in Metroid Dread, but this is not exactly recommended as a reliable healing method, as Energy Tanks are only found in select locations and they are not exactly easy to discover. Rely on the other two methods, and you should never have any trouble healing while on ZDR.
