Metroid Dread: How to Proceed in Dairon

While not as obscure as previous entries in the series, Metroid Dread doesn’t exactly hold players’ hands. Sure, there are some tutorials here and there, but players are mostly left on their own to figure out how to proceed exploring planet ZDR.

There is a specific sequence in the first few hours of the game, right when you have to start exploring Dairon where a lot of players get stuck, and the game doesn’t exactly provide any help on how to proceed. Here’s how to move ahead and continue exploring the area.

How to Proceed in Dairon in Metroid Dread

While you are trying to defeat the second E.M.M.I., the Green E.M.M.I., in Catarsis, you will be forced to move onto the Dairon area to find an upgrade that will allow you to unlock a door that leads to a Central Unit that unlocks Samus’ Omega Cannon, which is needed to defeat all E.M.M.Is. Right as you get off the transporter in Dairon, you have to head to the left, where you will find a big room with a few hidden blocks that cannot be destroyed until you obtain the Speed Booster ability. The problem is that there is seemingly no way to proceed in the Dairon area without breaking these blocks.

In reality, this is not the case, as there are some hidden blocks that can be destroyed with Samus’ regular beam attack. You can find their location in the screenshot below.

Once you destroy these blocks, you can continue exploring Dairon and find the upgrade you need to destroy the green E.M.M.I. and proceed through the main campaign.
