The official Minecraft blog has casually announced that Minecraft Earth is now entering early access in Iceland and New Zealand! You can download the game on both the App Store and Google Play Store if you are from those regions.
But that is just a small part of the world, you ask, and we answer with do not worry! The team has also announced that in the following weeks, the game will roll out its early access version to other parts of the world. In the early access version of Minecraft Earth, players will be able to explore the real world through the lens of Minecraft. Players can place down their first buildplate, which lets them create little Minecraft dioramas. Other players can help with them too!
When you explore, you will come across various “tappables,” which are familiar friends from the world of Minecraft. Tap on them to collect them, and you will be receive materials and unlock new mobs to use in your buildplates. One of the featured tappables is the super adorable Muddy Pig!
Just like in the original game, you can craft new items and blocks to build with. When you are ready, you can tackle the “adventures,” which are mini-dungeons that put you toe-to-toe with Minecraft‘s iconic enemies.
Also, coming soon to Microsoft Stores around the US, Canada, Sydney, and London are Minecraft Earth demo kiosks where you can try out the game!
