The pocket edition of the highly successful Mojang game Minecraft will soon receive a new update which will introduce quite a number of features. Together with the new features, you can expect the game to become bigger than ever.
The regular updates the game usually receives are going to be nothing compared to the more significant additions included in the upcoming 0.8.0 update.
The main feature to be introduced in the game is the ability to mine and use Redstones, which should open up a lot of gameplay possibilities. Redstone is used to power many of the machines of the game like turbines, rails and many others. This is definitely going to be big, bringing the game closer to the original PC release.
Not all of the advanced uses of Redstone will get included, but all the basic ones will, so there’ll still be plenty of new things to do in the game.
More features included in the 0.8.0 update are:
- 3D Clouds
- Sideways logs
- Walls
- Sponges (Creative only for 0.8.0, Survival in future update)
- Birch, Jungle, and Spruce Planks and Stairs
- Pumpkins and Pumpkin Pie
- Carrots and Potatoes
- Iron Bars
- Carpet – Water Flowing Downward on Farmland (Bug fix)
- Fire Doesn’t Ignite TNT (Bug fix)
This isn’t the definitive list of changes introduced by the new update so more could get in before it officially launches sometime next month.
Minecraft – Pocket Edition is now available for purchase on the App Store. The game is a Universal App.
