With Microsoft’s acquiring the Minecraft brand, the future of all the versions of the game not available on Microsoft’s consoles seemed to be quite uncertain. Luckily, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has already talked about the matter, confirming that all the other versions of Minecraft, including Minecraft – Pocket Edition, will still be available and supported in the future, as the company sees no reason to terminate development and support of these versions of the game.

A couple of months ago, a new Minecraft – Pocket Edition update has been released on the App Store. The new update introduced new blocks and items, new flowers, new mobs, new lakes and all the Biomes from the PC version. Mojang has also promised that the next update wouldn’t take as long as the latest one to get developed and released, so work is surely underway. No news are currently available on what may be introduced by the new update at the moment.

Minecraft – Pocket Edition is now available for purchase on the App Store and, luckily, will be available for quite a long time, despite Microsoft’s purchasing Mojang and the brand.
