Who needs a Hero? WE need a hero! Need A Hero is a match-3 puzzle game with an RPG twist. Fuel your battle rage by making long chains on the puzzle board, and craft new equipment to improve your hero. Let’s get the journey started with our Need A Hero cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!
1. End your chain if you’re about to attack!
The game teaches you that going for long chains is always best. However, there is one exception to this rule. If you look closely, you can tell when you’re matched enough enemies for an attack. When you’ve hit the required amount, you’ll see a exclamation mark on your rage bar. You can stop your chain here, because any further matches will not carry over after your attack, essentially wasting the enemies.
2. Take your time!
With that said, you should always look for long chains. You aren’t timed or anything during your turn, so don’t rush and examine the board closely. Remember that you can connect pieces diagonally, which helps immensely when going for long chains!
3. Make the special spell tomes!
As you progress, you’ll unlock the ability to create spell tomes when matching a certain amount of enemies. The first tome you get, Fire Explosion, automatically matches the surrounding enemies when matched in a chain. Save these up and include them all in one big chain for a massive explosion! The second tome you get is Water Wave, which clears out all vertical and horizontal enemies wherever the tome is. These tomes are incredibly helpful so try to make them as often as possible!
4. Craft new equipment!
Eventually you’ll be able to craft new weapons and armor to improve your hero. You’ll need coins and a certain amount of materials, which can found from material locations from all over the world. Be sure to go back to these locations and make the best possible equipment you can!
5. Replay levels on harder difficulties!
You can only initially attempt the normal difficulty of a level when you first get to it. When you beat it, you can replay the level on a higher difficulty. The rewards are better, so it’s recommend to revisit earlier levels once you’ve gotten stronger!
That’s all for Need a Hero. If you have any other tips or tricks, let us know in the comments below!
