New for iOS: Shadowrun Returns, Pocket Trains and More

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

We have a week of few releases on iTunes (probably developers are still trying to figure out iOS 7) but there are some big name releases, like the highly anticipated Shadowrun Returns. We also have a nice game in Pocket Trains, as well as some time wasters, and they’re all shared below in Touch, Tap, Play’s list of the best iOS games launched this week!

Shadowrun Returns

The year is 2054. Magic has returned to the world, awakening powerful creatures of myth and legend. Technology merges with flesh and consciousness. Elves, trolls, orks, and dwarves walk among us, while ruthless corporations bleed the world dry. You are a shadowrunner – a mercenary living on the fringes of society, in the shadows of massive corporate arcologies, surviving day-by-day on skill and instinct alone. When the powerful or the desperate need a job done, you get it done… by any means necessary.

Pocket Trains

From the creators of Pocket Planes comes Pocket Trains! Manage and grow multiple railroads
by hauling important cargo around the world. Collect parts to construct all the different train types from Steamers to Diesels, and complete daily events to unlock special trains beyond imagination! Bonus: the pixelated, retro graphics.

T.E.C 3001

I was saying the other week that we can’t have a “new for iOS” article without an endless runner, and TEC is the one this week: in the game, you are guiding a cutting-edge technology robot to collect virtual space energy leftovers for humanity. The robot also reminds me of Terminator, so that’s a bonus!

Cat on a Diet

Chillingo is bringing a new physics puzzler, where the podgy pussycat Dr. Meow can’t stop munching on delicious cookies and needs your help getting his greedy little paws on more! While his owner sleeps, steal away into the kitchen and help tumble this tubby tabbycat into the prized cookie jar.

In this enthralling construction and strategy online game you immerse into the role of a Christian Crusader or Saracen prince. Your mission: construct huge castles, extend your dominion continuously and secure your supremacy in the Holy Land. Become a legend and live on forever or fade into the dust of time.
