Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Toph Guide- How to Play Toph

Nickelodeon has introduced one of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s legendary earthbenders to the All-Star Brawl: Toph Beifong. Toph is a natural fighter and, as she told her mother and father, she is rather good at it! The confident young earthbender has been blind since birth, which has led to her understanding and mastery of her power. Find out below how to help Toph use her powers to defeat opponents in the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

How to Use Toph

As Toph is an earthbender, she is drawn to the earth and is happiest with her feet on the ground. This shows in her play-style—she keeps most of her moves quite low and doesn’t jump about much like other fighters. Her brawler-style gameplay and long-range moves make up for her weaker aerial attacks.

Toph’s stage is Omashu, a large stage based on the second-largest city in the Earth Kingdom. The stage has five platforms and supply carts that randomly slide through the city, knocking Toph or her opponent down.

Toph’s Moves

Toph’s Light moves are pretty simple. They are Rising Knee (Neutral), Champion’s Belt (Up), and Rock Slide (Down). Her Light Air attacks are basically variations of her regular light moves: Air Slap (Neutral), Aerial Champion’s Belt (Up), and Headbutt (Down). Toph’s Light Dash attack is Running Push, which sees her skidding towards the opponent, dealing damage as they collide.

Toph’s Strong attacks are where she can start to show off her real skills. Her Strong Neutral is Crashing Earth Wave, which sees the earthbender bring rocks up from the ground and push them towards the enemy. Both her hands and the rocks have hitboxes with this move. Toph’s Strong Up move is Clay Warrior, where Toph brings a clay warrior out from the ground. The more this move is charged, the further away the warrior appears. Her Strong Down attack is Wall Slam. This move brings a large rock wall down onto the opponent.

The earthbender’s Strong Air moves are Front Clap (Neutral), Spin Kick (Up), and Downward Punch (Down). Her Strong Dash attack is Stone Catapult, where Toph uses a rock to propel herself forward toward the opponent.

Next up are Toph’s Special attacks, the ones that her opponents will really have to watch out for. Her Special Neutral is a long-range attack, Boulder Hurl, where Toph gathers rocks into a ball in the air and flings them at her opponent. The longer the charge for this move, the bigger the ball. The Special Up move is Boulder Surge, where Toph gathers rocks below her and releases them while jumping—a great move for edge-guarding the opponent to keep them from regaining space on the platform.

Gameplay via Nintendo

Toph’s Down Special is Iron Boot. Toph can slam an iron boot down in front of her as she performs a front flip. If Toph performs this move in the air, she creates a platform beneath her. This platform can only be created once for every moment she is in the air; she must land and then jump again to create it again.

Finally is Toph’s Taunt move, where she cheekily waves her hand in front of her face in a “You can’t see me” gesture.
