OMG: TD Tips And Tricks

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

OMG: TD is not a game that introduces revolutionary changes into the Tower Defense genre but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a fun game. Despite being a free to play game, with all the good and bad that comes with it, you can still get some good hours of fun out of this title.

If you want to enjoy the game more without having to pay money for in-game purchases, you may want to follow these small tips and tricks for the game.

  • Earning Stars

Earning stars in OMG: TD is not too hard. There are three stars available for each stage, making it a total of 88 stars available in the game. The number of stars obtained depends on your performance during each stage. Most times you will be able to get two stars your first time completing a stage, since you probably don’t have enough resources to avoid making enemies slip through. You can play the stage again once you do to get the final third star easily.

  • Upgrades

There are two ways you can upgrade your units. The first one is to use Souls to increase capabilities of both Gods and special heroes. You can also use coins to increase an individual unit’s stats. The latter is not recommended at all, since it takes way too much time and resources to upgrade single units.

  • Characters

Only four characters are available at the moment, but more will be released as DLC in the near future. Hercules is going to be your first character, a good hero to stop enemies thanks to his strength. The other characters are the Minotaur warrior Clyde S. Dale, the flying serpent Mr. Talonted and the siren Nina Seamone. Each one comes with his or her own special features but unfortunately you will have to pay for them as there’s no way to unlock them in the game.

  • Power Ups

In order to help you during the course of the game, you will be able to obtain and use four different power ups. The first one is the Beefcake, which increases the power of your hero for a limited time. The Fist Of God is a one time attack which will be effective over a set area. The Rewind power up will push back the enemies, allowing you to better prepare both offensively and defensively. The Supercharger will allow you to use your power stations to draw lines and attack enemies for three times. If you’re out of them and want to get a few extra ones, you can also buy them. It’s not realy required, though, as the game throws you quite a few of them during regular play.

  • Obtaining Souls

Unfortunately there aren’t many simple ways to get some extra souls. The only way you can get a few extra ones is by watching promotional videos. If you’re really desperate, you can also buy them with real money.
