Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous features a huge number of non-playable characters. Some of them will give you new quests, while others play the role of merchants or share more information and expand the story.
One of the more interesting NPCs in this complex RPG is Kyado. This guide brings you everything you need to know about Kyado in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and answers the big question of whether you can save him.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous—Kyado Explained
You will encounter Kyado in Act 3 after you free Drezen and finish the Banner over the Citadel quest. He is a cleric at the Temple of the Good Hunt and shares his inventory with Arsinoe and Vissaliy Rathimus, which means that if you get an item from him, it will disappear from the inventories of the other two NPCs as well.
You can get several useful items from Kyado, including:
- Headband of Vast Intelligence
- Ring of Pyromania
- Half of the Pair amulet
- Numerous useful scrolls, like Scroll of Raise Dead
Kyado is a proud servant of Erastil, but talking to him will give you a feeling that not everything is ok in this temple. As you explore the Temple of the Good Hunt, you will open the secret passage to the crypt and learn that there is a curse put on Kyado. Zanedra the witch, a servant of Baphomet, cursed him so that he doesn’t allow anyone but the initiates of Baphomet’s cult to enter the crypt. If he fails, he will be torn from the inside by a brood of rats.
Can You Save Kyado in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous?
If you choose to go into the crypt and explore, you will see on your way back that the curse really worked. All that is left of poor Kyado are his bloody remains and some rats that will attack your party. This leaves many players wondering whether they can explore the crypt AND save Kyado so that they can access his inventory later on.
Unfortunately, the only way to save Kyado is if you play the Angel or Trickster Mythic Path. Dialogue options linked to these paths will have you circumvent the curse by becoming a Baphomet initiate or persuading Kyado to take control of his life and eventually kill Zanedra.
In case you’re on any other path, those dialogue options will be blocked, and Kyado will die no matter what you do.
That concludes our guide to everything you need to know about Kyado in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Let us know if you manage to save him and check out our other useful guides in the dedicated Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous section on TouchTapPlay.
