It has been over a year since the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield and, while the expansions did offer more monster catching and battling action, fans are starved for new entries in the series. New entries that we will likely see in the near future, according to rumors circulating online.
Spanish website Centro Pokémon revealed that Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl remakes are currently in development for Nintendo Switch. According to the website, these remakes will be revealed sometime next month, likely on February 27, which has become Pokémon Day, the day the original GameBoy games released. Nintendo usually celebrates the day with live streams and announcements, so if any announcement will be made in February, it is going to be at the end of the month.
Not much else is known about the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl remakes, but it seems like Nintendo and Game Freak will not handle them the way they did the Red, Blue, and Yellow remakes, as it has been said that the new remakes will be closer in style to the original games released in 2006.
The Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl remakes have yet to be announced. If they are indeed real, they will probably release toward the end of the year, also considering that Nintendo’s release schedule is pretty barren after March.
