Pokemon Go: Dia De Muertos Event Guide 2022

We'll tell you everything you need to know about the Día de Muertos 2022 event in Pokemon Go.

At the beginning of November, Pokémon Go hosts its annual Day of the Dead seasonal event, to reflect the real-world Day of the Dead. This year’s Día de Muertos event contains lots of spooky Pokémon who are really getting into the season, and of course there are lots of beneficial effects to help you hunt down certain Pokémon. Pokémon Go: Dia de Muertos 2022 Guide

The first and probably most note-worthy part of the Día de Muertos event is the debut of the special event form of Duskull, Cempasúchil Duskull! This special Duskull is available during the Spotlight Hour on November 1, running from 6 to 7 PM local time zone. You can see its full evolution line plus the shiny version below.

Aside from the special Duskull, this event activates all the standard special event boosts, including:

  • 2x catch Candy
  • Incense and Lure Modules last for 90 minutes
  • Themed Pokémon increased encounter rates
  • Themed raid battles
  • Themed Field Research
  • New collection challenge
  • New themed avatar items

Just in time to close out the spooky season, you’ll have a higher chance to encounter some supernatural Pokémon in the wild, including:

  • Cubone
  • Sunkern
  • Roselia
  • Duskull
  • Drifloon
  • Yamask
  • Swirlix
  • Chinchou (Wild only)
  • Litwick (Wild only)
  • Sunflora (Incense/Lure Module only)
  • Houndoom (Incense/Lure Module only)

And if you’re looking for a fight, why not challenge one of the featured raid battles? You can find the following themed Pokémon as raid battles:

  • Tier 1 Duskull (2,770 CP)
  • Tier 3 Dragonite (24,343 CP)
  • Tier 3 Sableye (11,501 CP)
  • Tier 3 Druddigon (18,606 CP)

For the more inquisitive Trainers, there’s a new list of Field Research Tasks to complete as well. Here is the complete list, alongside their respective reward encounters. All the encounters feature Pokémon that have shiny forms, so you might get lucky!

  • Make a Nice Curveball Throw (Roselia and Litwick encounter)
  • Make a Great Throw (Cubone encounter)
  • Make 3 Great Curveball Throws in a row (Cempasúchil Duskull encounter)
  • Win a Gym Battle (Houndoom encounter)

There’s a new Collection Challenge to complete as well. For completing the challenge, you’re rewarded with an Incense, Poffin, and an Alolan Marowak encounter! You’ll need to catch the following for this collection:

  • Roselia
  • Litwick
  • Cubone
  • Sunkern
  • Chinchou
  • Swirlix

Finally, there are some new arrivals in the shop. You can get some Day of the Dead inspired face paint for your Trainer, and there are special offers on some present boxes.

That covers just about everything new for the Día de Muertos event. The event ends on November 2, at 8 PM local time, so make sure to join the fun and complete as many goals as possible!
