November 5th brings the Festival of Lights, a Pokemon Go event dedicated to electric and fire type Pokemon. The festival runs until November 14th and features the debut of Dedenne along with a slough of event spawns, special egg Pokemon, raids, bonuses and more!
Dedenne’s Debut
Dedenne, a mouse-like electric/fairy type Pokemon will be available for the first time in Pokemon Go during the Festival of Lights! While it isn’t quite powerful enough to be of much use in raids or as a gym defender, Dedenne’s rare typing will make it a welcome addition to Great League teams in PVP.

The following Pokemon will appear at increased spawn rates during the Festival of Lights:

Other Bonuses
In addition to the aforementioned changes to spawns, eggs and raids, friendship levels between players will also increase at double their normal rate during the Festival of Lights. Furthermore, you will get more items than usual from gifts that friends send you. These friendship-related bonuses will be especially useful since during the Festival of Lights, you will be able to open 45 gifts per day!
