Scraggy, the little lizard that looks like it’s wearing pants, has arrived in Pokémon Go! Scraggy is a unique Dark and Fighting dual-type Pokémon. These funny little guys can often be seen stretching up their saggy skin, which acts as a form of self-defense. If you’d like to get one of these strange but interesting lizards for yourself, read our Pokémon Go guide on Scraggy’s catching info, Shiny availability, and more!
How to Find and Catch Scraggy
Scraggy is a rather elusive Pokémon. Scraggy can only be found in the wild during timed events—they will not appear under normal circumstances. However, Scraggy can be hatched out of 12 km eggs at any time, which will be the only way you can get it if there are no Raid battles or Field Research tasks featuring it. Scraggy is one of the potential tier 1 Raid Pokémon.
Scraggy’s evolved form, Scrafty, does not appear at all—that means you will never see it out in the wild, hatched from an egg, or as a Raid boss. The only way to acquire a Scrafty is through evolving a Scraggy, so you cannot skip its baby form.
Scraggy Shiny Availability
Unfortunately, Scraggy’s Shiny form exists but has not been added into Pokémon Go yet. Scraggy’s Shiny form is in the game’s data, so we only have to wait until it’s officially released. Much like the other Shiny forms in Pokémon Go, Scraggy will probably be featured in some event that will make his Shiny form more likely to appear, so stay tuned!

Scraggy’s Battle Moves
Scraggy is a dual-type Fighting and Dark Pokémon. It can learn the following moves:
- Fast Attacks
- Feint Attack (Dark, 10)
- Rock Smash (Fighting, 15)
- Charged Attacks
- Acid Spray (Poison, 20)
- Brick Break (Fighting, 40)
- Foul Play (Dark, 70)
Due to its interesting typing, Scraggy is resistant against Ghost, Psychic, Rock, and Dark-type moves. However, Fighting, Flying, and Fairy-type moves are super effective against Scraggy, so be careful. Our favorite combo for Scraggy is Rock Smash and Foul Play.
