Pokemon Sword And Shield are fast approaching their release date, and Nintendo has been quite eager in showing more of the upcoming games, revealing more details on the new regions, the new gameplay mechanics, and, most importantly, new Pokemon.
Last week, the Japanese company revealed that the evolution of one of the classic Pokemon that have appeared in the original Pokemon Red and Blue will be added to Pokemon Sword And Shield, Sirfetch’d, evolution of Farfetch’d.
A new gameplay clip has been shared recently, showcasing the Pokemon in action. You can check it out below, courtesy of Nintendo Everything.
Pokemon Sword And Shield will be the first Pokemon games that will not feature all of the Pokemon that have been included so far. The decision, according to Pokemon Company president Junichi Masuda, was difficult to make but it was needed.
If a Pokemon does not appear in Sword and Shield, however, it does not mean that it will not appear ever again in the series.
Just like all of you, we are passionate about Pokémon and each and every one of them is very important to us. After so many years of developing the Pokemon video games, this was a very difficult decision for me.
I’d like to make one thing clear: even if a specific Pokémon is not available in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, that does not mean it will not appear in future games.
Pokemon Sword and Shield launch on November 15th in all regions.
