Following the most recent announcement from Riot Games, the developers are going to end Wild Rift support for specific Apple devices officially. As a result of this, players with the following Apple devices won’t be able to run League of Legends Wild Rift properly:
- Apple iPhone 6
- Apple iPhone 6 Plus
- Apple iPad Air (1st Gen)
- Apple iPad Mini 2
- Apple iPad Mini 3
However, it doesn’t mean that the above-mentioned iPhones and iPads can’t even run the Wild Rift. Instead, players are more likely to see crashes, black screens, and other technical issues if they continue to play on these models.
Riot explained that developers had to undergo extra work in order to optimize every update for the low spec Apple models. Additionally, Apple is no longer supporting these iPhone and iPad models with software updates following the release of iOS 15.
Here’s what Riot said in the official announcement post:
For these reasons, Riot has decided to end Wild Rift support for old iPhones starting from patch 3.1. If you’re using any of the above-mentioned devices, playing on a more powerful device is highly recommended to improve the experience.
