From building the perfect ranch to breeding an ideal race horse, we will tell you everything that you need to know in order to win all the races. Since the game has a captivating story line, we won’t cover that, but my suggest is that you check it out because especially the intro, is pretty much a work of art.

But enough with the praising – you’re here to learn more about the game, so without further ado, here’s our Rival Stars Horse Racing tips and tricks

Follow the story line (for good reasons)

Unfortunately it will be pretty difficult to make upgrades in the game without following the story line, because the upgrades will be unlocked as you progress through. That means that whenever you complete tasks, you will unlock new features and level up (player level).

This is super important until you reach level 3 because that’s when you get your daily tasks and can participate in even more events. I suggest that you just follow  the quest line until then, and once you are level 3 you start taking part in as many events as possible.

Build stables to get more horses

You are going to have to build quite a few stalls to keep all the horses in, and that means that you will need time and resources. Unfortunately, you can’t have all of them from the very beginning, so it will come down to making the right choices and making them work for you.

So when you are just starting you will have one single stall and one horse. You will be able to upgrade it and get more, and whenever that is possible, I suggest that you do it. But don’t fill it up just yet! You should wait and progress through the quests a little bit and get some gold, then check out the Market.

You might see some amazing horse for sale, and if you do, then you will have an empty spot to place it in! That’s why you shouldn’t rush to breeding!

Check the market for good horses

In the Market you can buy gold and spend real life money, but you can also purchase horses with in game currency. I suggest that you save the gold to buy the horses which have a purple border, because they are generally better.

Also, take a look at their stats (Speed, Sprint Energy and Acceleration) and if it’s good, then it will be worth investing in it. Don’t spend gold or any currency on horses with 1 star, because you will find better ones. You don’t have to spend the gold or silver to buy those.

Use the horses which better fit the given race’s criteria

Every race will have a different terrain, just like every horse prefers a different terrain and position in the pack. For example you might have a horse that excels at being in the middle of the pack, and run on soft terrain. Don’t position yourself last in the pack because it will not lead anywhere.

Always use the horses which match the terrain and distance the best, because that way your chances greatly increase. Also, try using horses whose stats are not below 40, at least.

Also, when you want to buy new horses don’t go for the ones that you already have (for example if you already have a horse for soft surfaces, don’t get another one with similar stats).

You can see the chances of you winning on the left side under “Odds”. If the odds are low, it means that you will most likely win.

If you don’t believe you have it, hire someone!

In the races you can also choose to hire a jockey to race for you. Of course, this is not ideal because the jockey might  not do things as they are supposed to, but hey! If you just want to race or simply want to watch your horses go, then this is an option too.

I don’t suggest that you do this unless you can’t play or something, because the AI of the game will not always do the best thing and you will lose most likely.

After the race, watch an ad to collect more silver

After completing a race you will be offered several times a day to watch an advertisement to receive some silver. This is useful as it can be done only a few times, and you should definitely take advantage of the offers.

Complete your daily tasks

In the top side of the screen you will have under the Goals section the Story Mode and the Daily tasks. I suggest that you do the daily ones whenever you can, but before the timer expires. They will give out pretty good rewards, so every little reward matters at the beginning.

Make all the upgrades at once

This is something that I found useful for the game, even when I am not currently playing. I suggest that you start the upgrades (for example breeding stall upgrade, income upgrade, and all of them) before you close the game. That way you don’t have to watch ads to complete them sooner.

Also, whenever an upgrade has just a few minutes left (5 minutes) you can complete it for free. Unlike in other games, you can make several upgrades at once here if you have all the required materials. That’s a big reason why I prefer to make them before going to bed.

Else, if you want to speed up the process, you can watch an ad to reduce 15 minutes off it. This can only be done for a limited time every day, so use them while you are in game.

Take part in Live Events and win super strong horses

In the Live Events section in the bottom right side of the screen you will be able to take part in events which can give you some really good rewards. Don’t miss on the opportunity and if you have a horse that fits the criteria, join!

Use the Sprint wisely

When you are racing, you have a green bar at the top of the screen. That is your stamina, and if you have played other racing games, you could consider it the “NOS” of the horse. This refills in time, but you shouldn’t run around wasting it.

It’s best if you use it at the end, but depending on which horse you are playing with, it can run out pretty quickly. So use it wisely! I prefer to use it right at the end, but depending on the horse this can fill up faster for some than for others.

If I have a horse that kinda lacks the refill for this, then I just spring whenever I can during the race and try to stay in front at all times. However, my favorite horse is one that likes to be in the front and this helps with refilling this quickly.
