Flicks are secret maneuvers in Rocket League Sideswipe. Performing Flicks involves you hitting the ball in a certain way with your car. Flicks have more power to them than just ramming your car into the ball, so learning to use them can be advantageous. Today, we’ll show you how to do various Flicks in our Rocket League Sideswipe Flick guide!
How to do Various Flicks
Blue Flick
Perform Blue Flicks by flipping into the ball with the front end of your car. Your nose must be the part that hits the ball for it to count. The easiest way to pull this off is to jump into the ball, then flip into it just before you make contact. The Blue Flick is great for doing a long-distance shot from the ground, or if you want to intercept the ball as it’s coming back down.
Blue Flicks are slightly less powerful than Purple Flicks, but they also take your current speed into consideration. You can get good power off of Blue Flicks by first boosting then flipping into the ball.
Purple Flick

To perform a Purple Flick, have your car’s wheels touch any side of the ball. Once the wheels have made contact with the ball, immediately jump, and you’ll flick the ball in the direction of your car’s underside.
The Purple Flick is incredibly useful for following up aerials and dribbles, letting you dunk the ball into the goal. You can even get really fancy with it by incorporating spins into your maneuvers! For example, with the ball flying above you, you can spin until your underside touches the ball for a sick surprise shot!
Here’s a small tip: if you’ve already used your midair jump, your car will flash white when you land correctly on the ball. That’s your cue to jump to perform the Purple Flick!
Gold Flick
Gold Flicks are performed similarly to Blue Flicks, except that you hit the ball with the tail of your car, instead of the nose. The easiest way to do Gold Flicks is to jump at the ball, then point your tail towards the ball, and right as you’re about to hit it flip away from the ball.
Gold Flicks have roughly the same amount of power as Blue Flicks, so they can be utilized in just about any way you can imagine. If you happen to be in a situation where the ball is about to land on your tail and you’ve got your flip still, go ahead and take advantage of the Gold Flick!
That’s all the Flicks in the game right now. The timing and positioning is tricky for all three Flicks, so go ahead and practice them in training. If you’ve got any other tips or questions, let us know in the comments below!
