Rejoice! GTA 6 has finally been confirmed. Rockstar Games has officially announced that a new GTA title is currently in development and also addressed the issue of the “longetivity” of GTA 5. The game came out all the way back in 2013, and fans of the franchise had been demanding a brand new title. Leaks and rumors surrounding GTA 6 being in development have been doing rounds on the internet, and this confirmation will finally shut down the speculations.
In a recent newswire, Rockstar announced the news and said “with the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered—and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.”

GTA 5 was originally released for the PS 3 and has seen two re-releases. The community had been begging Rockstar for GTA 6 for ages and even condemned the PS5 re-release of GTA 5. While GTA Online, the multiplayer part of GTA 5, has been doing great and has a substantial player base, it still couldn’t hold up against the craze for GTA 6.
However, Rockstar has not shared any official name for the new game and is simply calling it “a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.” No release date or window has been revealed either. However, leaks suggest that GTA 6 might see a release sometime in 2023.
