To celebrate the release of Anchorman 2, the app Scotchy Scotch Toss was released to iOS systems. A simple game, the goal is to throw ice into Ron Burgundy’s glass of scotch. Similar to the many paper toss games, Scotchy Scotch Toss can be difficult if you don’t know what you’re doing. Here are some tips and tricks I picked up.
Aiming and Go With The Airflow
While aiming is everything is this game, there are many things you have to consider. Sometimes the glass is not in the center of the screen. Through out the four locations, Ron’s glass maybe slightly toward one side or another. Keep this in mine for when there is zero airflow. Airflow can also affect aim. The game will generate “wind” making it difficult for aiming. The trick is to toss the ice into the wind in order to curve into the glass. Careful not to toss the ice too hard, as it will carry further than you wanted it to.
Go For Bonus Points
With the four different locations comes interactive environments. Some are just there to bounce the ice off of, but some give players points. Baxter will catch ice in his mouth, as does the fake shark in Ron’s apartment and the tank of scorpions in the RV. You can also combo to get more points. Bouncing the ice of off Ron’s face will get the player more points. Other combos are more difficult and require the right conditions for the ice to make it into the glass. These are all background items, although Baxter will sometimes howl to blow the ice forward. Try your luck with bouncing ice of things, the worse thing that will happen is an insult from Ron.
