This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Welcome back trainers to the ever growing world of Pokémon Go! Earlier this year, Niantic brought over the Pokémon from the third generation of games into Pokémon Go. The Hoenn region is a fan favorite among Pokémon fans, and now the adventure continues with the fourth generation’s region!

Starting this week, trainers across the world will be able to encounter Sinnoh region Pokémon, including the famous starters like Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup! The fourth generation of mainline Pokémon games includes titles such as Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum.

Much like the Hoenn update, the Sinnoh Pokémon will be coming to Pokémon Go in waves. This means that while they won’t be available all at once, we will be getting them slowly overtime. That just means more Pokémon to look forward to catching!

Remember – with each new generation of Pokémon, new evolutions are brought into the game as well. This means that soon trainers will be able to get their hands on fourth generation exclusive evolutions such as Rhyperior, Magmortar, and more!

Pokémon Go‘s Sinnoh update has gone live, and you can already catch some of the starting Pokémon now. More Pokémon will be added in future waves! If you haven’t joined the adventure yet, you can start your Pokémon trainer career at any time by grabbing the game off the App Store and Google Play Store.
