Valve announced the portable console last year and is offering three different versions based on storage size. The Steam Deck is not your average portable console instead, it can be thought of as a handheld PC, allowing users to take and play their entire Steam library with them anywhere they want.

Under the 7 inch screen, the Steam Deck is powered by an AMD APU built around two key AMD architectures: Zen 2 and RDNA 2. PC players will remember the Zen 2 architecture from the AMD Ryzen 3000 processors. There are four Zen 2 cores in the Steam Deck capable of eight threads, meaning it can handle almost anything you throw at it.
For graphics, the handheld PC is taking advantage of the RDNA 2 architecture. RDNA 2 architecture is behind the handheld PC’s graphical grunt. The Steam Deck packs in 8 Compute Units (CUs) for a total of 512 cores and can run games at 720p resolution quite comfortably. Here are the Steam Deck specs:

As per Valve, the Steam Deck will launch on February 25, 2022, and the company will begin emailing everyone who pre-ordered a Steam Deck. Valve said, “Customers will have 3 days (72 hours) from receipt of their order email to make their purchase, before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue. The first units will be on their way to customers starting the 28th, and we plan to release new order email batches on a weekly cadence.”
