With the main game having such a big focus on multiplayer, things couldn’t have been much different in the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury expansion. During the Bowser’s Fury campaign, Mario will be joined by Bowser Jr. to defeat Fury Bowser and return him to his usual clumsy nature that we have come to love over the past 35 years.
But how exactly does Bowser Jr. help Mario in his new quest? Let’s find out.
Bowser Jr. Can Be Controlled By Another Player
A few minutes after starting the Bowser’s Fury campaign, Bowser Jr. will join Mario. If you have another player on hand, you can enjoy the new campaign together, as Bowser Jr. can be controlled by another player without any limitation. This is definitely the way to go if you can, as the co-op features make the new campaign even more fun. If you have no one hand, however, you can let the AI control Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr. Settings Explained
When Bowser Jr. joins Mario at the beginning of Bowser’s Fury you will be asked how much you want him to help Mario. If you pick A Little, Bowser Jr. will provide a decent amount of help without making the challenge level trivial.
If you pick A Lot, Bowser Jr. will be incredibly active, providing not only hints but also help Mario collect coins. This setting is best suited for those players who do not have a whole lot of experience in platform games and 3D Mario games in general. Everyone else will find this level of help excessive.
If you pick Not At All, Bowser Jr. will not be doing much. He will just follow Mario and investigate points of interest if you command him with the motion controls. This is the setting to choose for expert Mario players who want the campaign to be as challenging as possible.
In case you want to change your settings, all you need to do is press the + button, and enter the Settings Menu.
