Super Mario Maker 2 New Footage Showcases 2.0 Update

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Super Mario Maker 2 fans were left a bit perplexed in the past few months, as Nintendo did not release any major update for the game. This was in stark contrast with what happened with the original game, which got multiple updates in a short amount of time which added a lot of extra content to the game.

The reason why this didn’t happen for Super Mario Maker 2 is that the Japanese developer was working on some new major features that would add so much more to the game than simple new course elements.

The Super Mario Maker 2 2.0 update is releasing tomorrow worldwide, but GameSpot and IGN already had the chance to try out the new content like the Master Sword power-up, the new course elements and the new play mode that will also feature courses created by Nintendo. You can check out the new footage below.

Super Mario Maker 2 has been released this Summer on Nintendo Switch. The game improves on the formula introduced by its predecessor by adding new course elements as well as a brand new style, the Super Mario 3D World style, which features exclusive elements. The game also features online multiplayer which expanded on the formula but sadly failed to make any real impact due to some issues that make it hard to play for most players.

Super Mario Maker 2 is now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide.
