The Charged armor set is a special armor set used by the Zonai for ancient rituals involving thunderstorms. As such, the armor set grants you improved attack power when the skies are gray and thunderous. If you want to wear these fancy garbs, follow our Tears of the Kingdom guide on how to get the Charged armor set.
Please note that you can only obtain the Charged armor set once you have completed a significant portion of the main story quest, so there will be some slight spoilers ahead.
Getting the Charged armor set in Tears of the Kingdom
Specifically, you must have progressed far enough to recruit the four new Sages and completed “Regional Phenomena”. Afterward, once you lead the assault into Hyrule Castle and resolve the “Crisis at Hyrule Castle” main quest, you can then go after the Charged armor set.
Once you are ready, head to Kakariko Village. Paya and Tauro will finally open the fifth and final Ring Ruin to the public, so head up there and take a picture of the stone slab. Show the picture to Tauro, and this kicks off a new main quest called “Secret of the Ring Ruins”.
Head to the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower to meet up with Calip and Tauro. Calip is there to tell you that Tauro already went ahead to start studying the Zonai ruins near Dracozu Lake, so let us head there next.
How to get the Charged Shirt
Head to the location at Dracozu Lake in the screenshot above. You should see a lit campfire in the area—this is Tauro’s camp. Across the river, there is a passageway leading into Zonai ruins, so head in to find Tauro and the chest containing the Charged Shirt.

How to get the Charged Trousers
Now, follow the Dracozu River south. Head to the star stamp location in the screenshot above, and you should see another Zonai opening. This time, the way in is blocked by some rubble, so break it open with a hammer weapon or Bomb Flowers. Head inside and open the chest to get the Charged Trousers.
How to get the Charged Headdress
Keep going down the Dracozu River, until you get to the star stamp on the map above. Like before, there is another opening you can go through, but there are roots blocking the way. Chop through the roots with a bladed weapon or burn them with fire, then go inside to get the Charged Headdress, the final piece of the Charged set.
All three pieces of the Charged armor set start with 3 base defense, and the Stormy Weather Attack bonus, which increases your attack power during thunderstorms. Please do not misinterpret this as lightning immunity, as we found out that hard way that is not what it means.
