The Sims Mobile: How to Change Your Appearance & Customize Your Character

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Even with multiple characters to control in The Sims Mobile, things can get a bit too repetitive and boring if they all wear the same clothes each day. It can even get boring if your characters don’t change their physical appearance every now and then and we’re here to help you with exactly that.

Today we’re talking about how to change your appearance in Sims Mobile and how to customize your character whenever you feel like a change is needed.

Before we dip our toes into the waters of editing characters, don’t forget that we also have some general tips and tricks for the game – make sure you check them out if you want to get a head start in The Sims Mobile!

You will most likely end up spending hours trying to build that perfect character in the game and edit him or her to look exactly as you’d like them to.

There are a ton of options to really customize your character and make their physical appearance as close to yours as possible (or similar to anybody you know!). You will need a lot of time and dedication to do that and maybe a bit of an artist’s eye, but it’s doable.

So we’re starting with this first, since I believe that most people will not change the physical appearance of their Sims too often. But here is how to edit your character in The Sims Mobile, any time, any place, easily:

After logging in to the game, simply tap the Sim icon in the lower left corner of the screen, after selecting the Sim you want to edit, then tap the “Change appearance” button:

Once there, you have more options: you can change your character’s gender, name, physical appearance and style (clothes):

When we’re talking about your Sim’s physical appearance, customizing it is made in two main areas: face and body.

You can select from presets in multiple sub-categories (such as eyes, nose, lips and so on) or you can go the extra mile and personally adjust each element in order to make it look exactly as you want to:

As you can see, this is easily done by dragging a button over the lines to the left and right, so you can give it try right away. Something similar goes for editing your Sim’s body and the good news is that all these extra customizations can be done at any time and you don’t have to spend any money to do it!

How to change your Sim’s clothes and appearance in Sims Mobile

Now, after creating that perfect face and body, you don’t want them to wear the same clothes and accessories at all times, right? Well, you’ve got a ton of options here as well and I’ll guide you through the process.

In order to change your Sim’s clothes, you will have to follow the same route to edit your character, but select the “Style” option from the menu. Then, the fun begins, with tons of options to choose from:

Each category has multiple sub-categories and you have a lot of options to choose from here, including the possibility to change the colors of the clothes or accessories.

In most cases, though, you will need to reach a specific player level in order to unlock the extra items and afterwards you’ll also have to spend some in-game currency and items to unlock them:

But once you have them unlocked, they’re yours to wear whenever you see fit and any characters of the same genre can wear them.

Unfortunately, you don’t have the option that you do in the Sims titles to create various appearances for various occasions (work, home, partying and so on). At least not yet.

But at least you have a ton of options when it comes to customizing your characters in The Sims Mobile, so you will never get bored. You will also be able to really make those Sims yours, so get working on that!
