The Nintendo Switch received tons of ports over the past few months, and most of them have been developed by other studios and not by the original developers. This, however, is not going to be the case for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
Speaking with Polygon, as spotted by Nintendo Everything, Activision confirmed that Vicarious Visions, the team behind the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions, is currently working on the upcoming Nintendo Switch release. This is definitely good news for all those who are waiting for this version of the game to get back on their virtual skateboards.
Asked about the developer that is handling these ports, Activision told Polygon that original developer Vicarious Visions is on the case, even though Activision Blizzard recently merged the studio into Blizzard Entertainment
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 includes all the content included in the first two entries in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series as well as some very small tweaks that make both games even more enjoyable than they used to be in their original release. Developer Vicarious Visions opted to leave most of the gameplay as it was in the originals, a choice that paid off quite a bit.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 launches on Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
