If you still can’t get enough of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, you don’t have to stick to the original game. Years after the official release, we now have so many different mods for this game that make it more fun, more convenient, and more enjoyable.
Still, you probably don’t have the time to sort through all the mods in different online communities and find those that will make your gameplay experience even better the next time around. For that reason, we have created our selection of the top 25 best Pathfinder: Kingmaker mods. Check them out and see this beloved game with new eyes.
1 Bag of Tricks
The name says it all—this mod brings you the option to change, add, and remove different stats, abilities, items, class levels, money, experience, etc. If you want cheats, this mod has enough of them for all your needs. You can have unlimited skill points, no burn, ignore alignment checks, and so much more. It’s not only about tricks—you can use this mod to toggle the fog of war on and off, set zoom limits, or adjust scrolling speed, among other options.
2 Respecialization
Not satisfied with the class or specialization of your hero after all? This mod allows you to change the class, race, gender, portrait, abilities, stats, and other elements while keeping the experience, equipment, and alignment.
3 Portrait Pack 2024 Full
As you expect from the name, this mod contains 1177 high-quality, 767 mid-quality, and 438 lower-quality images that you can use for your Pathfinder: Kingmaker character portrait. Download the tier that you want (we recommend high-quality images) and get a portrait that matches your character much better than the default options.
4 Kingdom Resolution
This mod is primarily meant to help you resolve Kingdom Events in one day, but you will also be able to manage the Kingdom outside claimed regions, pause the Kingdom timeline, preview dialog results, change Events DC for better rewards, and more.
5 Call of the Wild
Not satisfied with the default classes in Pathfinder: Kingmaker? The Call of the Wild mod brings you many new classes, like Skald, Oracle, Witch, Warpriest, Antipaladin, or Holy Vindicator alongside more feats, class abilities, and spells. It works only in the English version of the game on PC.
6 Turn-Based Combat
If you’re going back to Pathfinder: Kingmaker after playing Wrath of the Righteous and missing the turn-based combat option, you don’t have to feel bad any longer. Thanks to this mod, you can have turn-based combat in Kingmaker as well. And when you wish to go back to the original experience, just hit the hotkey ALT+T.
7 Various Portrait Pack
Need more character portrait options? No problem, because this mod features more beautifully rendered images that match different races and classes perfectly. You might have a hard time deciding on one of these because they all look gorgeous. If you want to use some of the images in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous as well, you can read our guide to using custom character portraits in that game.
8 Visual Adjustments
Pathfinder: Kingmaker has tons of customization options, but they might not be enough if you don’t like the way your character looks in certain aspects that cannot be changed. This mod gives you more control over what your avatar looks like. Now, you can override armor and weapon appearance, hide unsightly equipment like backpacks, helmets, or inactive weapons, or even change character size without disrupting gameplay mechanics.
9 Craft Magic Items
This mod is heaven-sent for the crafters among the Pathfinder: Kingmaker fans. You can now count on crafting feats like Craft Wand, Brew Potion, Forge Ring, and more. Still, each feat comes with a predetermined minimum caster level, and you should also know that crafting still costs gold and other required resources and takes time.
10 Pathfinder Editor
Pathfinder Editor allows you to change your save files on Mac or PC. Once you download and install it, you will be able to change combat abilities, speed, alignment, kingdom build points, portraits, skills, companions, and more.
11 Fast Travel
Another creation of the Nexus Mods member called newman55, this mod does what it promises in the name. When you install it, you will be able to adjust the game and party speed depending on the mode you’re in. It allows for a 100%–300% speed increase in Exploration, Battle, or Global map, which makes the gameplay much more efficient.
12 Cleaner
Leaning towards the more practical side, this mod helps you keep the size of Pathfinder: Kingmaker save files in check. Save files in Pathfinder: Kingmaker are notoriously large, and Cleaner helps you by removing all unnecessary elements like NPCs, animals, loot, and corpses from the scene. Don’t worry—crucial quest-giving NPCs are still there.
13 Hair Unlocker
Another mod that expands the customization options, Hair Unlocker allows you to play with your character’s hair and beard. One set works for sharing between Humans, Dwarves, and Aasimar, and another set is meant for Halflings and Gnomes. You can even change eyebrows in the Head options.
14 Camera Rotation – Get A New Perspective
A very welcome addition to how perspective works in Pathfinder: Kingmaker, this mod allows you to rotate your view fully in-game and on the world map. You can map the hotkeys for camera rotation to your liking. This mod has been added to the Bag of Tricks mod, but you can get it here without all the other bells and whistles.
15 The XYZ Portraits
We will never say no to more beautiful Pathfinder: Kingmaker portraits. You can expand the list of default options in the character creation menu with 70 custom images that fit the style and aesthetics of the game very well with this mod.
16 Highlight Learnable Scrolls
This mod makes identifying learnable scrolls for your active character much easier and more convenient. Make sure to manually select the character when you’re at a store, and the scrolls they can learn will glow green by default. You can also change the color for more accessibility for color-blind fans.
17 Eldritch Arcana
In this mod, it’s all about magic. Eldritch Arcana adds the Oracle class and a bunch of feats, traits, spells, and items to support it. You can also experiment with new archetypes like Crossblooded Sorcerer and other elements that were added based on PnP Pathfinder.
18 UI Extensions
This mod aims to improve the user interface in Pathfinder: Kingmaker. You can choose to display HP text constantly, show pets’ HP text, scale UI size, hide HUD, and more. All the options can be accessed from the Settings menu by hitting CTRL+F10.
19 SkipIntro
Don’t want to watch the introduction because you are quite familiar with Pathfinder: Kingmaker’s lore? You can jump straight to the game and get to the main menu by downloading and installing this mod created by the Nexus Mods user gnivler.
20 Carry More – Set Your Own Encumbrance Limit
Once again, it’s all in the name. You don’t have to sacrifice different items for your limited carrying capacity because this mod lets you play with the encumbrance limit individually or for the whole party. This mod is also a part of the Bag of Tricks mod pack, but you can get it on its own as well.
21 Better Vendors
This mod gives you access to a merchant guild with 14 new vendors that have unique items. You can access them from the throne room only. Thanks to Better Vendors, there is no extra dialog—you get straight to the point with each seller and don’t waste time on chitchat. You also get to designate and keep certain items on the trash list, even with the auto selling option turned on.
22 Rest Less – Slower Weariness
If you download the Bag of Tricks mod pack, you will have this option included automatically, but if you don’t need everything that pack has to offer, you can get this mod by itself. It is quite useful as it lets you spend less time resting. You can set a multiplier that determines the time when your party will start feeling weary again to your liking—the lower the value, the faster your party gets tired.
23 Proper Flanking 2
In case you wish flanking in Pathfinder: Kingmaker was closer to flanking as it is in PnP Pathfinder, here’s the mod that will save the day. Besides making these corrections, Proper Flanking 2 adds a few new feats (Quick Draw, Pack Flanking, Enfilading Fire, etc.), a Rogue talent (Underhanded Trick), more traits (Deadeye Bowman), and more.
24 Pathfinder Iconics Portrait Pack
Now, this is a real gem in the world of portrait packs and mods for Pathfinder: Kingmaker. This pack features the original artwork of Wayne Reynolds, who designed these images for Pathfinder as a tabletop roleplaying game. Among many, in this pack, you will find iconic characters like Adowyn, Alain, Iconic Lirianne, and many more.
25 Remove Area Effects
This mod gives you a particularly useful advantage for dealing with casting spells like Web or Entangle that live a long-lasting area of effect that restricts your movement. However, it will work only out of combat as it was meant just for speeding up AoE residue that might happen, say, after you set off a trap.
And that concludes our list of the best mods for Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Let us know which ones you found helpful and check out our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guides as well if you need help with the sequel to Kingmaker.
