Ways to find diamonds in Minecraft
Finding diamonds might take some time, but it is definitely worth it. Once you have obtained diamonds, you can craft an enchanting table to improve your gear or upgrade to diamond gear.
5) Exploring caves
Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part II update expanded the cave systems in Minecraft by adding cave biomes, noise caves, ore distribution rework, and more. The new massive caves are great places to find exposed diamond ores.
You can find diamonds quickly by exploring caves below Y 16. But do not get confused between glow lichen and diamonds ores. Also, be aware of all the hostile mobs that spawn in caves.
4) Underwater caves
Oceans have also changed in Minecraft 1.18 update. You may often come across giant caves under oceans at lower height levels. Due to this, you can find exposed diamond ores. Since the caves are underwater and waterlogged, you can swim into deep cave systems in hopes of finding some diamond ores.
3) Trading with villagers
In Minecraft, you can obtain many items by trading with villagers. While diamonds are not available straight as items, you can buy diamond tools, weapons, and armor from certain villagers.
Master-level toolsmiths, armorers, and weaponsmiths sell diamond tools, armors, and weapons, respectively. Moreover, these gears can also have decent enchantments.
2) Looting chests
Diamonds are part of loot tables for many chests. If lucky, you can find a few diamonds by looting chests found in structures. Buried treasures chests have a 46.9% chance of having one diamond. Loot chests in end cities, bastion remnants, and shipwrecks also have the possibility of having diamonds.
1) Strip mining
One of the oldest mining strategies, strip mining, is still excellent at finding diamond ores in Minecraft. In older versions, strip mining around height level 11 yielded many diamond ores. But nowadays, you will have to mine around Y 55-60 for the maximum number of diamond ores. Due to deepslate, strip mining takes a long time, yet it works like a charm.
