A good video game is bound to get your blood pumping—and we’re not talking only because of intense fights or great storylines. Many a game features characters that we wish could be real because they are so dreamy.
Yes, we love a well-written character with a great personality, but nobody’s going to complain if they look good too. Therefore, without further ado, here’s our list of the top 10 sexiest video game characters of all time in no particular order. There’s something for everyone because sexy knows no gender—or species, apparently—so feast your eyes!
Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
No list like this could go without Lara. Lady Croft has been with us since 1996, but her appeal is not going anywhere any time soon. Even when she was just a mass of crude geometric shapes, Lara had us head over heels with her badass-yet-posh attitude and that British accent (booty shorts helped too).
The fact that she was played by Angelina Jolie in the first-ever Tomb Raider movie only solidified her status as the ultimate sex symbol for generations and generations of gamers around the world.
Geralt (The Witcher)
Whether you’re thinking about the video game Geralt or Henry Cavill in Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher series, that’s one hot witcher right there. Who knew we would be into that hair?
He may be emotionally unavailable (but, hey, becoming a witcher does that to a person), brooding, reserved, and dangerous, with a lot of areas for improvement when it comes to his communication skills, but he can be kind, loyal, protective, and a great adoptive father to Ciri.
Also, those scars from innumerable fights with all kinds of monsters are kinda sexy. And that Kaer Morhen workout obviously brings results.
Lady Dimitrescu (Resident Evil Village)
Unless you somehow skipped 2021 or suffered from temporary blindness that year, you must have seen this voluptuous, statuesque woman on every possible screen. Alcina Dimitrescu took over the hearts of Resident Evil fans across the globe with all 9’6” of her height thanks to her incredible size, undeniable fashion style, bold red lip, curves for days, and the fact that she’s a vampiric entity that feeds on human blood.
We’re not sure if developers knew what they would cause when they created Lady Dimitrescu, but we’re sure she’s still haunting the dreams of so many gamers—and they’re not all nightmares.
Nathan Drake (Uncharted)
In some imaginary poll for the best video game boyfriend material, Nate Drake should win every single time. He’s adventurous, knows his history, and would take you to the most incredible places around the world. Nate is a guy who would make you roll your eyes at his lame jokes yet smile regardless.
Also, we don’t mind his strong jawline, baby blue eyes, tousled hair, or that body hardened by climbing all kinds of lost temples around the globe. And thanks to Uncharted 4, you know he would rock that tuxedo at your wedding for sure.
Yennefer (The Witcher)
Yenn or Triss—that is the question. Well, for Geralt, at least, because in our books, Yennefer of Vengerberg reigns as the sorceress supreme of our hearts. No disrespect to Triss, of course, who is lovely in her own right, but Yenn just has that sense of danger and power (almost villainess-like) that works so well with that gorgeous face, raven hair, and purple eyes. Some could go as far as saying that she’s toxic to Geralt, but we don’t care. And just like Geralt, we don’t mind her unicorn kink either!
Blackwall (Dragon Age: Inquisition)
The list of sexy, mature, bearded male characters in video games can get long—Joel Miller from The Last of Us, daddy Kratos in God of War Ragnarok, Venom Snake from Metal Gear, Chris Redfield in Resident Evil Village… you get the point. Still, Blackwall from Dragon Age: Inquisition has something special about him.
Maybe it’s that luscious beard shape or his raspy, commanding voice, or his high cheekbones… or maybe it’s just our unresolved daddy issues. Only a therapist would know.
Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
There must be some connection between horror games and sexy women, but it’s difficult to ruminate on that when Jill is staring back at you from the screen. She has a face of an angel, a body of a supermodel, and looks great in a sleek bob and a tank top; she is funny and cheerful and can kill zombies with style left and right—is that the perfect girlfriend material for the impending zombie apocalypse or what?
Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII)
Cloud is maybe the perfect combination of hot, sexy, and cute. Blond spiked hair, piercing blue eyes, lean body, and a cocky attitude—he is a real dreamboat whose good boyish (almost androgynous) looks go beyond those traditional standards set by ultra-masculine, ripped, and bearded male characters we usually swoon over in video games.
Also, have you seen the size of that sword?
Jacob Taylor (Mass Effect)
While we could argue how satisfying his storyline was, there’s no denying that Jacob Taylor is fine. If you choose to romance him, he plays hard to get at first, but that makes the chase even more interesting.
Can we also talk about how well that uniform fits or, even better, what he looks like without it in those shirtless scenes? Swoon.
Bowser (Super Mario)
Ok, hear us out. It might be Stockholm syndrome, but Bowser is kind of hot. Yes, he’s a brute, and those spikes are dangerous, but Bowser is probably just misunderstood and needs some love to see how wrong his ways are. There must be a soft, lovable core underneath that hard shell. We can change him!
And there you have it—the ten video game characters that keep our hearts racing! This list could be much longer, so make sure to let us know who does it for you in the comments. We know you have opinions!
