Was Shakedown Removed from Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1?

Shakedown is a great recon mechanic in Fortnite that players used to know the location of a knocked player’s teammates, allowing them to then finish off the entire team.

However, since Fortnite Chapter 3 Season One came out, players are not able to use the Shakedown mechanic. Now many players want to know if the mechanic was removed from Fortnite Chapter 3 Season One or not?

Was Shakedown Removed from Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1?

Yes, the Shakedown game mechanic, along with the Split Screen feature, is now removed from Fortnite starting Chapter 3 Season One.

The Shakedown mechanic was introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2, and players used it to gather intel on a knocked player’s party members.

The Shakedown mechanic worked as such: after knocking down a player, other players could pick up the knocked player and then use the Shakedown option to know the location of teammates, which made a whole lot of difference in a combat situation.

Now that the Shakedown mechanic is removed from the game, there is a mixed reaction coming from the Fortnite community. It’s pretty understandable, as Shakedown is a very big game mechanic to be removed silently from the game.

While split-screen was not the most used feature in Fortnite, you must know that it was also removed from the game starting with Fortnite Chapter 3 Season One.

Fortnite is a free-to-play battle royale game currently available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PC, and Classic Mac OS.
