What many players do not know is that Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster offers some additional challenges that are very fun to complete. These challenges are accessed via the Burial Chambers, which do require some extra effort to access. Here’s how to.

What are Burial Chambers in Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster?

Burial Chambers are special rooms found in each Kalpa of the optional Labyrinth of Amala dungeon where it is possible to challenge again bosses that have been defeated during the main story. Bosses can be fought over and over, and the tombstones representing the boss battles will keep track of your records, so you will be able to keep track of your best performance and try to break your previous record.

All Burial Chambers’ boss battles will see you fight the bosses with your current demon party and Demi-Fiend, and there won’t be any game over upon defeat, allowing you to experiment freely. Upon victory, you will receive the same amount of Experience Points and Macca you received in the story battle, so do not expect rewards to be great for most of these fights.

How to Use the Burial Chambers

To use any Burial Chamber found in the Labyrinth of Amala, first, you will need to progress the story past certain points: as all of the Chambers allow you to replay boss battles you have already played, you will need to actually defeat the boss in the main story.

Even after defeating certain bosses, you will need something else to access the Burial Chambers. On the very first Kalpa dungeon, you will need to obtain the Black Visor, which is used to activate the Tombstones located inside the Chambers. The Black Visor can be found in the Western side of the B1 level in the first Kalpa, behind the locked silver door.

Once you have obtained the Black Visor, all you will need to do to play boss battles again is interact with a Tombstone so to put the Black Visor on and get transported past in time to fight all the powerful enemies you have already encountered once again.
