The game is centered around turn-based combat where the player, who takes on the role of a “Master,” summons and commands powerful familiars known as “Servants” to battle enemies. The story narrative is presented in a visual novel format, and each Servant has their own scenario that the player can explore. Servants are obtained through the gacha mechanic.

As such, Servants are integral to the story throughout the Fate series. Without them, Masters would have no hope of competing against other Masters. Today we will be talking about Servants and how to make them stronger.

Servants

Servants are Heroic Spirits that players, as Masters, command in Battle. Each Servant has a Class, active skills, passive skills, and Noble Phantasm. They are also grouped into 3 types:

  • Knight classes (Saber, Archer, and Lancer)
  • Cavalry classes (Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker)
  • Extra classes (Ruler, Avenger, Moon Cancer, Shielder, Alter Ego, Foreigner, and Pretender)

Servants are primarily obtained via summoning. 3-star Servants or below may be summoned for 200 Friend Points each, while servants over 3-stars can be summoned for 3 Saint Quartz each. Some Servants can also be obtained as special rewards during events.

Players can also ascend Servants to increase their maximum level, slightly changing their art and battle sprites. Ascending can also unlock new skills, all of which can be reinforced. Their Noble Phantasms can also be upgraded as well. Combining the same Servant upgrades the NP level, while completing Interludes may upgrade the rank.

There is another power ceiling beyond Ascension which can be achieved by ranking up the Servant. As such, Servant Rank Up quests are needed.

Servant Rank Up Quests

Some things to remember about Rank Up quests:

  • These quests upgrade or unlock new skills to the associated Servant once completed.
  • Quests will only open in Chaldea Gate if you have the associated Servant at Max Ascension.
  • Quests do not expire once they are unlocked.

There are seven of these quests in total, as follows:

First Rank Up Quest: February 1, 2018 04:00 UTC (1-star Berserker)

Second Rank Up Quest: February 2, 2018 04:00 UTC (2-star Berserker)

Third Rank Up Quest: February 3, 2018 04:00 UTC (2-star Assassin)
