Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest instalment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.
The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh eventually. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles as was the staple of the series thus far.
One of the ways players can get new Pokémon is by evolving them via special evolution items. One of those is the Transparent Mechanism. This is what it does and how to get it.
Transparent Mechanism
Going to Ginter at the Gingko Shop yields a lot of items for sale. One of them is the Transparent Mechanism.
The Transparent Mechanism is equivalent to the Dubious Disk in the older Pokémon games. Ginter sells this item from his shop for 10,000 G. This item serves only one purpose in the game, it allows players to evolve Porygon-2 into Porygon-Z after it evolves from Porygon.
Transparent Mechanism Usage
The Transparent Mechanism is the only item that can evolve Porygon-2. Since its purpose is only fulfilled by Porygon-2 and no other Pokémon, it is highly coveted. Players need to first ensure that they have Porygon in their Pokédex, getting that can be a little annoying, but there are ways to do so.
The only reason to purchase more than one Transparent Mechanism is if the player wants more Porygon-Z. Once Ginter offers the player the Transparent Mechanism, it will be available until 20 more Pokémon are caught. Every 20 Pokémon caught will cause Ginter’s offer to change.
