Dragonflight is the ninth expansion in the long-running fantasy MMORPG World of Warcraft. Released in 2022, it introduced features like the new environment Dragon Isles, which is the ancestral home of the Dragon Aspects, as well as a new playable race known as the Dracthyr, and a new Dracthyr-exclusive player class known as the Evoker.
The Evoker is the first race and class combination in World of Warcraft that allows you to switch between a human-like appearance and an anthropomorphic dragon-like form. There’s a lot you can do in the game, and in this guide, you can learn what is Essence of the Storm in Dragonflight.
What is Essence of the Storm in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight?
Patch 10.0.5 is the first big update that brought many new contents to WoW Dragonflight, such as a new world event called Storm’s Fury. And like Primal Storms, Storm’s Fury is triggered on a ten-hour rotation that can last for about four hours, allowing you just enough time to participate and garner unique currencies like Essence of the Storm and Elemental Overflow.
If you’re looking to take part in Storm’s Fury, you have to start the patch’s content by speaking to Zawarudu in the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken. They’re an NPC who will send you to the Primalist Future with the quest “Storm Warning.”
Upon completing the quest, you can observe and take part in Storm Fury events across Dragon Isles. And although Elemental Overflow and Essence of the Storm are two common currencies you get once you complete the events, it’s not specifically stated what you can do with them.
So, if you have some Essence of the Storm which you earned by participating in Storm’s Fury World Quests, you can return to Valdrakken to exchange Essence of the Storm for level 385 gear, which can be a Chasing Storm toy, the Skyskin Hornstrider mount, a Time-Lost Vorquin pet and WoW caches containing Storm Sigils.
