Nintendo has always been at the forefront of the video game industry, bringing innovations that have influenced the entirety of the industry and made gaming better as a whole for everyone, even those who aren’t exactly Nintendo fans.
For over ten years, Nintendo has been hosting Nintendo Direct presentations which have deeply changed the way many companies communicate with their fans and customers. But what do these presentations entail? Let’s find out.
What is Nintendo Direct? – Everything You Need to Know
Nintendo Direct is a series of online presentations that have been hosted by the Japanese company since October 2011 that provide additional details on hardware and software produced by not only Nintendo but also third-party developers. Initially, the presentations were aimed at Japanese and North American audiences but were later expanded to include European audiences and a few others.
Over the years, Nintendo Direct presentations have become a staple of the company’s marketing, as many high-profile games have been originally announced during these presentations. As such, fans are always waiting for the next presentation to learn more about what’s coming to Nintendo’s consoles in the future.
When Will the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 Air?
Following the big September 2019 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo did not host any other big presentation, preferring to share big overview trailers, like the one for Pokemon Legends Arceus, to showcase its upcoming games. With so many titles launching this year, however, another Nintendo Direct was sorely needed, and the Japanese company will air one tomorrow, February 9, at 2 p.m PT.
The first Nintendo Direct of 2022 will be roughly 40 minutes long and it will provide information on games launching in the first half of the year. With Kirby and the Forgotten Land launching next month, we should expect a good portion of the presentation to be focused on it, but we shouldn’t rule out any surprise.
