In addition to standard karts, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also features a plethora of bikes for players to ride on. Bikes handle differently than karts, and some players prefer their control style over the regular karts. If you’re looking into trying out a bike, we’ve got a list of some of the best bikes in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!
The Best Bike in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mr. Scooty
The Mr. Scooty is Baby Luigi’s signature bike. This bike has high acceleration, handling, and traction, but rather low speed and weight. Despite the cons, Mr. Scooty is one of the best outward drifting bikes, which means that it drifts away from the track sharper than it does towards. It also has one of the highest mini-turbo stats of all bikes.
Many players prefer the outward drifting bikes, as balanced drifting usually pulls you ahead. High acceleration also means you’ll get back onto the track quicker if something goes wrong, but the most important stat is the high mini-turbo. The mini-turbo stat determines how fast your mini-turbos charge up and how long they last, which means it benefits players who know how to pull off lots of mini-turbos.
With that knowledge, it’s important to keep in mind that using the Mr. Scooty will not instantly make you the perfect racer. You’ll still need to know the track layouts and the best spots to drift and use mini-turbos.
Some alternatives to Mr. Scooty are the Standard Bike, the Varmint, and the City Tripper.

Yoshi Bike
If you prefer a bike that drifts inward, the Yoshi Bike is the most popular inward bike that sees a lot of use in high-level play. The Yoshi Bike’s stats are nearly identical to the Mr. Scooty, so the only distinguishable difference is that it drifts inward rather than outward.
The direction your bikes drift in is purely player preference. Neither one is inherently better than the other, so choose whichever one is most comfortable with you.
