Lucky Trade Rate in Pokemon Go

One of the most obscure features in Pokemon Go is Lucky Trades. Players can trade Pokémon with their friends. And besides getting rare Pokémon, you can also get Lucky Pokémon. However, doing this is much more difficult than it seems.

A feature of the Lucky Trades is that the age of your Pokémon plays an important role. The older the Pokémon, the higher the Lucky Rate becomes when trading with friends. Pokémon that are less than one year old has a 5% Lucky Rate. And then, every year, the Lucky Rate will increase by another 5%.

However, you will not be able to reach a 100% Lucky Rate. The maximum you can achieve is a 20% Lucky Rate when trading Pokémon whose combined age is 3 years or more. So, it makes no sense to keep Pokémon longer than 3 years.

Also, you must remember that the system only counts full years. Therefore, both Pokémon must reach the full 1, 2, or 3 years for the Lucky Rate to increase. However, there is about a 2% chance that your Best Friend will become a Lucky Friend. In this case, during the next trade with this friend, you will definitely receive a Lucky Pokémon.

That’s all you need to know about the Lucky Trade Rate in Pokemon Go. Keep your Pokémon for several years to get Lucky versions of them. And while you are here, take a look at our guide on how to download and use TutuApp.
