Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is an Android/iOS game released in 2015. It is a free-to-play mobile game based on the Dragon Ball franchise.
The game was developed by Akatsuki and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Each region had separate release dates, so while Japan got it on January 30th for Android and February 19th for iOS, it was released worldwide on July 16th of the same year.
The game has been wildly successful, with over 350 million downloads and over $3 billion in worldwide revenue. The multitude of characters from the Dragon Ball series makes this game have a lot of replay value over time.
Today we will be discussing the Super Saiyan stage in Dokkan Battle and what is beyond that in this game.
Super Saiyan
Throughout the Dragon Ball Z series, transformations are a central theme. From the Saiyans to Frieza to Cell to Majin Buu, the series has sported plenty of transformations of every kind.
Not shying away from the same theme, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle introduces a plethora of transformations to the game, some new, some old. The most popular transformations throughout the series are, of course, those of the Super Saiyan transformation.
In the series, Super Saiyans are merely the first level of the transformation, since there are levels beyond a Super Saiyan. In Dokkan Battle, there are alternate transformations beyond the Super Saiyan scope. Some of those are:
- Super Saiyan 2
- Super Saiyan 3
- Super Saiyan 4
- Super Saiyan God
- Super Saiyan Blue
- Fused Super Saiyan
- Fused Super Saiyan 4
- Fused Super Saiyan Blue
Each of these forms exists in a variety of cards throughout Dokkan Battle, some of which may be unfamiliar to fans because of the game’s mechanic of adding different variations to several of their transformations. But rest assured, all of the Super Saiyan forms are an offshoot of any of the ones mentioned above.
