The Grass type Pokemon Cherrim has a powerful move called Petal Dance, and it can certainly learn it in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. However, it takes a lot of level progression to unlock, which can throw you off if you aren’t aware of when to expect it. Interestingly, the level that Cherrim learns it at has changed from what it was in previous games, as well as the moves stats. By following this, you’ll know exactly when you’ll get Cherrim’s Petal Dance, how it’s different, and how to add it to their move slots.
How To Catch And Find Cherrim
If you haven’t caught a Cherrim yet, be sure to do that. Cherrim are exclusively found in shaking trees, which you can hit by pressing X to call out a Pokemon. Cherrim have a chance to fall out of any blue tree found in the Obsidian Fieldlands, Crimson Mirelands, or Coronet Highlands. You may also possibly find its pre-evolution Cherubi in the same way while searching. If you do, simply raise Cherubi to level 25 and it can evolve into Cherrim.
How To Teach Cherrim Petal Dance
Once you have a Cherrim, all you have to do for it to learn Petal Dance is raise it to level 47. You’ll get a notification that it learned a new move, but you have to go and manually switch it out in order for Cherrim to be able to use it. To do this, press the upper button on the directional pad on the left joycon to go to your item and Pokemon party screen. Go over to Cherrim, press A, and go to the second option that says Change Moves. You will see a list of moves that you can switch out with Cherrim’s current moves. Pick Petal Dance, press A, pick the move you want to switch it out with, press A one more time, and then press X to confirm you want to switch the move.
When Cherrim Masters Petal Dance
If you have a Seed of Mastery, you can take it to Zisu at the Training Grounds and have your Cherrim master Petal Dance right away so that it can use it in the Agile or Strong style. However, if you don’t have any or you want to save your seeds, Cherrim will master the move on its own when it reaches level 59. Petal Dance has a power of 90, an accuracy of 85 percent, and PP 10, so it’s definitely worth using.
Hopefully this cleared up any confusion for you about how Cherrim gets Petal Dance and how learned moves work. With your Cherrim knowing Petal Dance, no Ground, Rock, or Water type enemies will stand a chance.
