What Level Does Magikarp Evolve in Pokemon Legends: Arceus? – Answered

Magikarp is known as the most useless Pokemon to ever exist. Introduced in Generation I, it only is able to use the move Splash for a very long time, which has absolutely no effect, whether in battle or outside of battle.

A little bit before evolving, Magikarp learns the move Tackle, which gives every unassuming trainer the hope that this flopping, useless fish will finally be able to do something worthwhile. But since Magikarp also has such abysmal stats, Tackle does close to no damage to the opponent, after which they can finish you off with an attack or two.

That being said, persevering and training your Magikarp to evolve it into a Gyarados is well worth the trouble, as it goes through one of the biggest glo-ups a Pokemon would ever see. With massively increased stats, a diverse movepool, the added Flying typing, and a badass design, Gyarados is a very valued addition into any trainer’s team.

If you want to find out at what level Magikarp evolves in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, then just read on ahead!

When Does Magikarp Evolve into Gyarados in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Just like in any other Pokemon game, Magikarp evolves into Gyarados at Level 20 in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. You can find Magikarp at Obsidian Fieldlands (Obsidian Falls, Lake Verity) or Coronet Highlands (Fabled Spring).

We do not recommend that you even attempt to raise Magikarp by letting it engage in battle. Just let it be in your party and have it earn experience as the rest of your team battle Pokemon, as well as with you catching various Pokemon and gaining experience.

Soon enough, you should see your Magikarp evolving into a Gyarados at Level 20 as you witness the uselessness drift away from it!
