Activision has finally confirmed the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 open beta date and it is around the corner. The game’s two beta weekends will likely be a player’s best time to try out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 before it launches in October.

As usual, Activision has once again made the dates a little bit confusing. Depending on the platform you’ll be playing on, there are multiple tiers of access to try out the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. So when is COD MW2 Open Beta for PC?

Although PlayStation owners will get the most out of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 open beta access, Xbox and PC users will also get a piece of the beta access pie as well. The open beta is split into two parts and we’ve outlined them below:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Weekend One

  • PlayStation Early Access (pre-orders) – Friday, September 16 @ 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 – pm BST to Tuesday, September 22.
  • PlayStation Open Beta – Sunday, September 18 @ 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 – pm BST to Tuesday, September 22.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Weekend Two

  • PlayStation Open Beta – Thursday, September 22 @ 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 – pm BST to Monday, September 26.
  • Xbox and PC Early Access (pre-orders) – Thursday, September 22 @ 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 – pm BST to Monday, September 26.
  • Xbox and PC Open Beta – Saturday, September 24 @ 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 – pm BST to Monday, September 26.

Both Activision and Infinity Ward have outlined what players and fans can expect the open beta to offer “a robust multiplayer experience going beyond the Core 6v6 experience with a variety of meticulously designed maps of various sizes, and an equally impressive set of Modes, Progression experiences, and other aspects.”

Players will also be given in-game rewards for trying out the open beta. Those who have pre-ordered the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 will be able to use the rewards from the beta test as well.

Activision’s Call of Duty Next event is scheduled to take place on September 15th and will showcase new information on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Warzone Mobile.
