The ninth main expansion of cards from the Sword & Shield Series, Pokemon TCG Sword & Shield — Brilliant Stars, introduces the long-awaited Pokemon VSTAR mechanic into the game.

With Pokemon V already being in play through the previous expansion, fans are eager with anticipation in regards to what the new Pokemon VSTAR mechanic, as well as all the new cards added into the expansion, will bring.

When is Pokemon Brilliant Stars Coming Out?

Pokemon Brilliant Stars is set to release on February 25, 2022. This expansion has already released in Japan on January 14, 2022, with the alternate name Star Birth.

Since this is the case, it is speculated that Brilliant Stars will be consisting of a lot of the cards found in the Japanese Star Birth expansion, in addition to the Start Deck 100 and the VMAX Climax subset.

The Brilliant Stars expansion focuses on the Alpha Pokemon Arceus, with various Pokemon that support the VSTAR mechanic such as Whimsicott, Shaymin, and Charizard.

The Brilliant Stars booster pack will contain a basic Energy Card, ten cards from the expansion, and a code card that can be used with the Pokemon Trading Card Game Live.
