Raid Battles are one of the many activities in Pokémon Go that players can take part in to obtain new Pokémon and other special rewards.
We have many new Pokémon Go players who get confused about Raid Battles usually because they don’t know what Raid Battles are and how they contribute towards the game progress.
In this Pokémon Go guide, we explain what are Raid Battles?
Where Are Raid Battles in Pokémon Go
Raid Battles are multiplayer Gym Battles where multiple players take on a boss Pokémon who has taken over a Gym. Players have to combine their force to defeat the Pokémon. Once that is done, all players part of the Raid Battle get some lucrative rewards that help in-game progression.
By taking part in Raid Battles in Pokémon Go, players also have a chance to catch the boss Pokémon that they defeat during the raid.
Raid Battles in Pokémon Go are more difficult than the normal Gym Battles, and you will often need some good players to effectively complete them.
There are four tiers of Raid Battles in Pokémon Go:
- Tier 1
- Tier 3
- Tier 5
- Mega Raids
The difficulty of the Raid Battle increases as the tier increases. We also have a special category of Raid Battles called EX Raid Battles which are nothing but exclusive Raid Battles which offer you a chance to defeat and obtain some of the most sought-after Pokémon.
