Fortnite has a few different ways of gaining Gold Bars. Players can then spend those Gold Bars on upgrades and purchasing items from NPCs and Vending Machines. The Gold Bars were first introduced in season 2 chapter 5, along with interactive Cash Registers. Cash Registers can be opened, which causes them to drop a small amount of Gold Bars (usually a minimum of 5 Gold Bars). Opening a Cash Register does not, however, offer any XP, so players can destroy them instead of opening them and not lose anything. They are also occasionally used as part of quests or challenges, such as the week 8 Season Quest. Find out more below.
Cash Register Locations in Chapter 3 Season 2
Cash Registers can be found at Gas Stations and at any type of store, cafe, or restaurant. To find multiple Cash Registers in one place, the best places to land are Coney Crossroads or Greasy Grove where they contain restaurants such as Durrr Burger or SofDeez Ice Cream Parlour, and Gas Stations.
A quest for week 8 asks players to open 3 Cash Registers, giving them 20K XP. The easiest place to complete this quest is at Coney Crossroads. Coney has a few shops and the SofDeez Ice Cream Parlour, with a coffee shop sometimes containing two Cash Registers! Land and go to the Coffee Shop first, then make your way quickly to SofDeez to finish the quest.
Good luck!
