Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest installment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.
The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles, as was the staple of the series thus far.
One of the Pokémon that makes its return from the original Gen 4 games is Magby, and this is how players can get one in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Magby
Magby is a Pokémon introduced in Generation 4’s games of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. It is the pre-evolved form of the powerful Magmar and subsequently, Magmortar.
Magby is a Fire-type Pokémon that, while not being as strong as its evolved forms, holds up its own in battle, along with being pretty damn cute. While most trainers try to find Magby to access its more powerful Magmortar form, collectors have still wanted Magby and its highly coveted Shiny Form.
But where can one catch Magby?
Obtaining Magby
Magby is primarily found in the Cobalt Coastlands, specifically on Firespit Island where most of the Fire-type Pokémon are found. They are quite a rare spawn as compared to most other Fire-type Pokémon found here, so it might take a while to find one. Returning back to Jubilife Village to reset the spawns and coming back here will help as well.
We wish you all the best, and Happy Hunting!
